So as I head into the lunchtime slot on ECR I know this much… 1) I’ll be able to accept those dinner invitations during the week that previously I had turned down because I’d have to excuse myself early 2) I’ll be sleeping in in the morning (at least until 7 most days) and 3) I’ll be going to work in the sunshine and returning home in the very same sunshine. It’s going to be awesome. The show was fantastic and thanks especially to the great team and the great listeners. Right now I’m putting my feet up and thinking about the great dreams I’m going to have at night and the fun I’m going to have on radio since another item from my bucket list has been ticked off. DO BREAKFAST – DONE IT!!!

We took the Saturday flight at 11am to Johannesburg and whilst the flight was slightly delayed due to a late arrival we didn’t have to wait long (unlike my fiance on another airline who had a 4 hour delayed flight to Cape Town).  The team on board were extremely friendly and seemed ever available to assist, whether it was the little old lady with her huge handbag or the young guy with his 2 backpacks.  I especially enjoyed the complimentary drink during the flight.  Tea, Coffee, Fruit Juice or Water – a nice touch.

The captain sounded familiar (as I think all pilots sound the same on the aircraft sound system) and the flight itself was as pleasant as any other flight I’ve taken before.

The flight home on Sunday left on time and whilst the plane wasn’t full, the service was still top notch.  Would I recommend Velvet Sky?  Perhaps I should ask whether I’d fly Velvet Sky again?  The answer is a simple YES.  Oh and next time I’ll buy my tickets.  Thanks Velvet Sky!
